Our Mission

The mission for MCCPCA is to promote public safety by holding offenders accountable for their actions and reducing the risk of future criminal behavior. We accomplish this mission by providing community-based alternatives to incarceration that reduces the cost of punishment while maintaining the integrity of the criminal justice system.

What is Work Release?

Work release is that portion of the Community Release Program that allows selected inmates to work at paid employment in the community during their confinement. Inmates must return to the Department's custody at the end of each workday.

Work Release provides:

  • Gradual reintegration back into the community.
  • Gainful employment.
  • Accumulation of savings from paid employment.
  • Preservation of family and community ties.
  • Participation in self-help programs.

Our Goals

  • Provide programs that do not compromise the safety of the community.
  • Rehabilitate the offender by providing educational and treatment programs to promote law abiding behavior.
  • Maximize the offender's ability to make restitution to the victim by remaining employed or becoming employed.
  • Shift the correctional costs from the taxpayers to the offenders while requiring the offenders to take responsibility for supporting their families.
